Regular servicing keeps your air conditioning system running efficiently, extends its lifespan and helps avoid costly breakdowns, especially in the middle of a heatwave when you need it most.
A typical service includes cleaning filters and coils, checking refrigerant levels, testing controls, and making sure condensate drainage is clear and running properly. Dirty filters and coils are one of the most common causes of a system losing cooling power, and it's usually the easiest thing to put right.
Under the F-Gas Regulations, larger systems have a legal duty to be checked for refrigerant leaks on a set schedule. Systems holding the equivalent of 5 tonnes of CO2 or more need checking at least annually, rising to every 6 months above 50 tonnes, with records kept for 5 years. Smaller domestic and light commercial systems don't fall under this legal duty, but the same principle, catching a slow leak early, applies just as much.
